XtraCryl-6mm x 3M Glazing Channel Bonding Strip
XtraCryl Self Adhesive Bonding strip for fixing Glazing Channels onto surfaces. For 6mm & 8mm channels
XtraCryl
XtraCryl is highly transparent, adhesive on both sides, has a total thickness
of 1.0 mm and is supplied in rolls of 3m. XtraCryl has excellent adhesiveness
immediately after application; already after a short time it offers a high degree
of security. XtraCryl is a high-performance, acrylate-based adhesive tape with
excellent resistance to ageing, weathering, temperature and solvents.
Due to its especially thick layer of adhesive, it is ideal for bonding rough
or uneven materials as well as for bonding glass, metal and many plastics. Stresses
in the adhesive bond are reduced by the thickness of the adhesive layer and
the strength of the bond increases greatly over time.

Adhesive tape: strapless high-performance, acrylate-based adhesive
Cover: siliconised, blue HDPE film
Peel strength: steel 43N/25mm, glass 40N/25mm
Shear strength: 45N/625 mm² at 20° C · 15N/625 mm² at 70° C
Temperature resistance: -40°C to +90°C, for short periods of time up to +150°C
Chemical resistance: stable in respect to bases, acids and solvents.
Storage life: 24 months (room temperture 20°C, humidity 50 %)
How to install shower glazing channels using XtraCryl:
Glazing channels for frameless showers like ours here - Frameless
Shower Screens, all use what are called Glazing Channels. Our channels
made from polished extruded aluminium.

There are a number of ways to install these channels, such as allowing all tiling
work to be completed & then installing the glazing channel on top of the tiles.
>> Mark the position that that channel is going to fixed to.
>> Clean the area thoroughly & ensure grease & oil free. Use our
SPECIAL
GLASS CLEANERS HERE
>> Apply the XtraCryl Bonding Strip to the area.
>> Place the Glazing Channel on top of the XtraCryl Bonding Strip
& press down firmly.
>> Leave to cure for at least 1 Hour.
>> Apply a resilient pad (aka spacers) every 30 cm in the channel to lift
the glass away from the channel, protecting it from damage & to assist in
fixing at a level height & distance.

>>Apply a bead of high quality silicon sealant (or use our PREMIER-UB-PROFESSIONAL-HM-SILICONE
SEALANT )

into the glazing channel then slid in your peice of glass carefully, wipe off
any excess silicone sealant.
